Wow, what a great project this is turning out to be!
I’ve been asked quite a few times
“what are you doing this for?”
Well as a wedding photographer, I’ve had so many weddings postponed until 2021.
I have all of this free time and I would have been photographing people.
Well, why not still photograph lovely people, just from a safe distance?!
Why not make myself useful and capture what’s going on, and document those who make our town what it is?
I set up an online form and shared it on some local Facebook groups. I had about 100 enquiries at first! I spent a few days organising and separating the enquiries into neighbourhoods, allocated an evening to each, planned a route, emailed everyone a time…
This project is so great to do, I’ve gotten to meet so many people while doing this, and have found so many little areas on foot that I hadn’t been aware of before. I don’t think I’ve ever used Google Maps this much!
This project went on for a fortnight during late May/early June of 2020.
See the bottom of the post for updates.
This project is the result of…
114
households photographed
27
hours of shooting
33
miles walked
And here are the results!

That’s the end of these lovely few weeks of doorstep portraits! Thanks to all of those who’ve participated.
Quite a few of you have wanted to donate money – I’d love for you to donate to either:
- Plymouth Deaf Children’s Society
- Devon Air Ambulance Trust
- Plymouth Hospitals Charity
- Tavistock Area Support Services (TASS)
- any other local charity. Support each other, spread the love around.
Oooh how exciting, I’ve been featured in the local newspaper!

Thanks all!
