Pretty & Punk Southwest Wedding Fair
Sunday 6th October 2019
Tavistock Town Hall, Butchers’ Hall, and Town Square
Well. MY FIRST WEDDING FAIR. And what a hoot it was!
These two fabulous gals, Hannah of Hannah’s Weddings and Events and Daniella of Magpie Event Planning, orchestrated the WHOLE THING. You may remember that when they first joined up a few months ago to create Pretty & Punk I did their promotional images. I was super on board with their ideas and brand, and was thrilled when I got a “yes!” to exhibit at their fab-sounding fair.

RIGHT. So. Tick list. Let’s get ๐or๐ga๐nised๐

That’s all that’s needed, right?!
I spent a while cleaning up my logo, and spent even more time deciding on whether it should be a black logo on white, white on black, green on white, or white on red. I eventually went with white on red with a watercolour backing to it to be less flat. I love it! Thanks ABC Service for this.

I had my images printed locally at Dartmoor Photographic, and put my strongest 3 in frames for the table. I packed in my wooden USB boxes (thanks Pens and Moor for the engraving!), fliers, business cards, twine, pegs, tape, notebook, and pen. All set!

I won’t lie, was rather nervous – there was a fabulous range of suppliers and vendors, and I didn’t think I’d be up to scratch with them at all. I’ve only been doing this for a few years, and as much as I love it, I didn’t feel I’d be on their level. On the day, however, everyone was SO welcoming. I came in and my table was next to Martha & Maud – a gorgeous vintage china hire company – and Cornwall Caricatures! I was very happy being with these two lovely ladies.

I hadn’t planned in too much detail how I’d present my work, as I didn’t know how much space I’d have to work with. As you can see, I not only had a 6ft table but also the wall space behind it – SO glad I brought the twine and pegs with me! Thanks very much to the fabulous Rosy of Odds & Buds Florist who not only lent me some scissors, but also these gorgeous flowers! She realised she’d brought too many for her table so very kindly offered them to me.
Here’s my finished stall:

It was a whirlwind of a day – I met so many lovely potential clients and other vendors, and had many compliments on my work.

Did you come along? Let me know what you thought of it!
